Top 10 Best Nintendo 64 Games of All Time

Nintendo-64-wController-L

The Nintendo 64 is my favorite game system of all time, and there’s no better to celebrate it all these years later by making a top ten list of the best games on the system. I’ve made the rule of picking only one installment for franchise.

10. Shadows of the Empire

Having been a  huge Star Wars fan my entire life, playing this game was awesome and felt extremely nostalgic. It’s based on the old legends novel by the same name that took place in between episode 5 and 6 and introduces two major characters in the old expanded universe, Xizor and Dash Randar. The game follows Dash as he struggles to help the rebellion destroy the evil empire. The graphics are a little dated, but the game still feels like Star Wars and the worlds are incredible. Highly recommended if you are a Star Wars fan.

9. Banjo Kazooie

Super fun and a breath a fresh air, Banjo Kazooie is great for everyone and still holds up to this day. The game has huge worlds, great graphics and fun characters that we can care about.

8.Conker’s Bad fur Day

Probably one of the most vulgar and violent games on the system, Conker’s Bad Fur Day is a fun and silly game that is extremely fun and hilarious. It’s also one of the rarest games on the Nintendo 64, thankfully I was able to get it for a very good deal.

7.The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Hailed as one of the best video games of all time, Ocarina of Time is timeless for it’s great soundtrack, brilliant visuals and awesome hero. Link never talks and could probably use some anger management sessions since all he does is growl but you can’t help but love this guy as he tries to save the princess Zelda from the evil Ganondorf.

6.Golden Eye: 64

The best video game movie adaptation of all time, Golden Eye 64 is probably what launched the first person shooter games and had incredible graphics for it’s time. The maps are all fantastic and Golden Eye will always hold a special place in my heart.

5.Donkey Kong 64

This world, like Mario 64 is humongous and the graphics are just jaw dropping for their time. Donkey Kong 64 is one of the best games ever made and while it times it gets extremely difficult as the game progresses and as you beat each boss for each level. It’s extremely fun and extremely challenging and the characters are all fun and all have their own uniqueness to them.

4.Mario Party 3

Probably the best of the series, Mario Party 3 has the most characters and the best mini-games. It’s such a fun time to be had and the chance time can get really frustrating at times since the other player can steal all your stars or all your coins but Mario Party 3 is a perfect party game (pun intended).

3.Mario Kart 64

No other racing game has ever come close to the charms and enjoyment of Mario Kart 64. The races are all great, and the multiplier corner is simply incredible. The items are all useful than all the other incarnations that followed. It’s safe to say that Mario Kart is the greatest racing game ever made.

2.Super Mario 64

This is probably the best single player game ever made and the graphics still hold up to this day. Peach’s castle is huge and the fact that you get to jump into paintings into humongous worlds, like the underwater world, the frozen world and the lava world, but the best one would have to be the desert world by far.

1.Super Smash Brothers

The King of multiple games, Super Smash was one of a kind and came up with our favorite Nintendo characters fighting each other. My favorite character to use: Kirby. He can fly super high and change into any character he swallows. The maps are all fantastic and the multiplayer is flawless. Super Smash Brothers is a timeless game and the best game on the system.
